The crowd below the stage buzzed with whispers, their expressions a mix of shock and judgment as they chattered away.
"This is Mr. Rajput's fiancΓ©e? Why is she dressed like a street punk?"
"Shouldn't Mr. Rajput's woman be elegant and sophisticated? What on earth is this?"
"Hmm, Mr. Rajput's taste is... unique, to say the least."
Priya had deliberately dressed like a punk to scare off potential suitors, but Arjun didn't seem to care about her unconventional appearance. In fact, he didn't even flinch as the guests questioned his choice. He stood tall and composed, completely unfazed.
Under the scrutinizing gazes of the crowd, Priya had no choice but to exchange engagement rings with Arjun. The host announced the ceremony complete, and though the guests were visibly uncomfortable, they clapped politely, not daring to offend the powerful Rajput family.
As soon as they stepped off the stage, Priya wanted nothing more than to escape the drama. But before she could make her exit, three elegantly dressed women blocked her path.
"Who are you, exactly?" one sneered.
"Why are you dressed like that? Do you have no shame?" another chimed in.
"Do you really think you're worthy of standing next to Mr. Rajput?" the third added, her tone dripping with disdain.
Priya sighed, trying to sidestep them, but they moved to block her again. Her patience wearing thin, she glanced at their glamorous outfits and said, "You're all dressed up, but I don't see any of you standing next to Mr. Rajput. Interesting, isn't it?"
The women gasped, offended. "How dare you speak to us like that!"
Before they could say more, Priya grabbed two of them by their perfectly styled hair and knocked their heads together like coconuts. They crumpled to the floor, unconscious. The third woman stumbled back, wide-eyed and terrified.
"Y-you... you're insane!" she stammered, retreating quickly.
Priya dusted her hands off and walked away, leaving the crowd in stunned silence.
Not far away, Arjun's friend, Rohan, clinked glasses with him, raising an eyebrow. "Arjun, where did you find this... wildcat? If you take her home to your grandfather, he might just have another heart attack!"
Arjun smirked, sipping his wine. "The old man just wants a daughter-in-law. Any woman will do."
Rohan shook his head in disbelief. "There are so many women in the world, and you chose her? Why?"
Arjun's gaze lingered on Priya as she walked away, a faint smile playing on his lips. "Because she's... interesting."
Rohan chuckled. "Interesting? She just knocked out two socialites like it was nothing. I guess I see the appeal."
Arjun's eyes gleamed with amusement. "Exactly."
Meanwhile, Priya was cornered by Kunal, Arjun's assistant, who tried to escort her to change into something more "appropriate." But Priya wasn't having it. She marched over to Arjun, her expression fierce.
"Listen, Mr. Rajput," she said, crossing her arms. "I kissed you once, and now you're dragging me into this mess? That's not fair. If you want compensation, fine. How much is your kiss worth? Thirty bucks? Fifty? Name your price."
Kunal gasped, horrified. "How dare you insult Mr. Rajput like that!"
Arjun, however, seemed amused. He leaned closer, his voice low and teasing. "Little girl, if you had the guts to kiss me in public, you should be prepared to face the consequences."
Priya rolled her eyes. "Consequences? I didn't sign up for this. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to use the bathroom."
Arjun nodded to Kunal, who reluctantly escorted her. But a few minutes later, Kunal returned, looking flustered.
"Sir, she escaped through the bathroom window. Should I send someone after her?"
Arjun swirled his wine glass, his expression calm. "No need. Find out where she lives. I'll handle it."
As the night wore on, Priya finally made it back home, only to be greeted by her furious father, Arvind, and her scheming stepmother, Trisha.
"You ungrateful girl!" Arvind shouted, raising his hand to slap her. But Priya dodged effortlessly, her reflexes sharp.
"Dad, calm down," she said, holding up a folder. "Here's the real information on all the men Trisha set me up with. Take a look. If you find someone suitable, I'll marry him."
Arvind hesitated, then took the folder and began flipping through it. His face grew darker with each page. "What is this? These men are... unsuitable, to say the least."
Trisha, feigning innocence, wiped away fake tears. "Arvind, I only wanted what's best for her. I didn't know..."
Priya cut her off. "Save it, Trisha. I'm not falling for your act anymore."
Arvind looked between his daughter and his wife, realization dawning on him. "Priya, I... I didn't know."
Priya sighed. "It's okay, Dad. Just promise me one thingβno more blind dates."
As she walked away, she couldn't help but think about Arjun Rajput and the mess she'd gotten herself into. Little did she know, her life was about to get even more complicated.
